Outdoor Lighting

Deck Lighting

Deck lighting is a great way to light up a garden and provide it with an attractive ambience.

LED lights can be inserted into the decking and used to light up the decking.

Some deck lights may need to be installed by an electrician whereas some are DIY so be aware of this when purchasing your deck lights.

Flood Lights

Flood lights are often used as security lights. When they have PIR sensors, they can help to deter burglars or other criminals. By installing flood lights at home, which will automatically turn on when they sense movement, you may well largely decrease the likelihood of being burgled.

There are many different types of flood lights. It is possible to buy:

  • Wireless ones
  • Low Energy ones
  • Ones with a PIR sensor
  • Ones which can receive radio signals
  • A variety of different wattages

Coach Lanterns

A coach lantern is an attractive way to light up your garden. They are often hung but they can also be secured to a wall or even dug into the ground, if they have a long rod.

Discharge

A discharge lamp is an artificial light source which generates light by sending electrical discharge through ionized gas.

Discharge lamps are long lasting and provide a high light efficiency. They can come in either low pressure or high pressure.

LED Garden Lighting

LED stands for Light Emitting Diodes. LED lights can come in a variety of different shapes – an LED light normally consists of clusters of LEDs all housed into one glass protector.

LED lights can be very long lasting and have a very high efficiency. They are also very durable.

PIR Lighting

PIR lighting is often used to deter burglars. Similarly to the above explanation on PIR flood lights, it can help to maintain a safe environment surrounding your house. It can also prove useful for times when you are arriving at your house when it is dark, as the motion detector will detect your movement and the light will come on.
